This project was executed under a tight schedule to ensure the arena opened on time. Initially overlooked in the original design, the City of Edmonton called upon Western Noise Control (WNC) to deliver a complete design/build solution just months before the grand opening. Leveraging our Alberta-based in-house acoustic design expertise, local manufacturing, and skilled installation team, we successfully completed the project on time, without any injuries or incidents.

WNC worked directly with the Oilers Entertainment Group and coordinated with PCL, navigating the complexities of working within an active construction site. The installation of Echotrol™ acoustic baffles, which occurred after the ice surface was laid, was accomplished using an innovative, OHS-approved aerial method that eliminated the need for traditional platforms or scaffolding. Despite the challenges posed by pre-installed boards and plexiglass, our experienced team completed the installation with precision, avoiding any damage and ensuring a flawless finish.
