Who We Are
At Western Noise Control, we're a group of professionals who came to understand a long time ago just how important proper sound quality is in certain applications. Depending on the context, some things you want to hear and others should never even register.
There's more to it than throwing up a couple of bass traps and other panels. Since 1974, we have been meeting and exceeding each client's expectations for acoustic solutions across the North American continent.
This is not a distinction we managed to achieve by chance. This comes from having a team of incredible and dedicated designers and engineers who take the time to communicate with and understand our customers. In doing so, we've put ourselves in a position that allows us to work hard to produce the most cost-effective and attractive solutions possible.

We Optimize

A Lunch and Learn to Get Your Feet Wet!
Sometimes setting the client's expectations is that much easier when we take the time to run through things in a relaxed forum. To this end, we can offer a lunch and learn setup on request. The idea is to spend approximately an hour running through a few very important topics alongside open forum questions to drive greater understanding.
Arrangements can be made for either in-person or online versions. If we go the online route, we will be using Microsoft Teams and it will all be conducted live. Bear in mind though that only your specific team will be able to access it.
That way, not only can we talk about targeted project questions, but we can also do our part in preserving your confidentiality.

Why Acoustic Treatment?
Reverberation, reflection, and resonance are three elements of sound in a room that when unregulated, can be quite a bit of a problem. Let's talk a bit about each.
Reverberation
Put simply, this is what happens when you have a bunch of sound waves bouncing off surfaces and congregating. If you've ever heard a room sound like there's a weird echo, this would be your culprit. This becomes more problematic the larger or more empty a room is.
That's because clothing is absorbing a lot of it when people are present. Without people, there are just hard surfaces and the bouncing is continuous. You'll also have difficulty with clear sound quality because of this.
Reflection
Again, you have an issue where sound waves are bouncing in ways you don't want. This time though, surfaces are reflecting them in unwanted directions. For example, you may be in an auditorium and need the sound to go toward the audience.
Reflection can get in the way of that and cause the sound to go where you don't want it to. Bear in mind that reverberation can be an effect of reflection.
Resonance
Every object and material has a frequency it vibrates at. When sound waves at a certain frequency encounter these things, they will vibrate more strongly, amplifying the sound, and creating what is known as resonance.
The result of this is loud and distorted sounds. There may even be feedback depending on the sound system, and nobody wants this.
